Rosann always knew she had a purpose in life. She's always believed that people could elevate their presence and fulfill their dreams. Today, she actively plays a role in getting them there through her work as a public speaker and strengths coach.

Earlier, we chatted with Rosann to understand what led her to pursue her career as a public speaker and a strengths coach. We tapped into Rosann to learn how we can use our strengths to make our careers blossom and achieve our personal goals. Here are the lessons we learned from this visionary leader.

#1: Focus on your strengths

As a strengths coach, Rosann's goal is to help people see others as well as themselves from a place of power and strength. She believes that people should work on improving the things they're good at, and we couldn't agree with her more. Think about the people who've reached the pinnacle of their careers. They've done so because they have mastered their craft. We encourage you to work on improving anything that may hinder your progress. However, when you focus too much your weaknesses and ignore your strengths, you fail to maximize your potential.

#2: realize that You are more powerful than you think

There are times when we feel powerless, both at work and in our personal life. For example, we may ask for a raise or a promotion at work, and our bosses feed us excuse after excuse until we finally give up. Rosann reminds us that in certain situations, we have more power than we think we do. Understanding your power means that you know your worth.

If you’re in a bad situation, at a minimum, you have the power to leave.

#3: love yourself, unconditionally

This last one is very important. Often times, we put everyone and everything ahead of ourselves. Whether is work, family, children, nobody should take priority over what's important for you. You can't pour from an empty cup, so make sure yours is always full.

No one is going to give you a promotion if the last person on your mind is you. No one is going to listen to you or love you if you don’t love yourself.
